One taste of Sophie Cinier’s wines and I was hooked. The wines possess a remarkable sense of composure, surely the result of a fearless winemaker and beautiful fruit. The 2018 single vineyard “Le Clos” Pinot Noir is a lovely wine, ethereal without ever becoming shy or inaccessible. Seductive hints of violet and cola are just enough to peak your interest and quicken your pulse with the first swirl and sniff. The nose is demure, engaging without being flashy or forward, just like great Burgundy should be! The palate is lush and generous, rarely traits found in such affordable Burgundy. Cinier’s deft touch in the cellar allows for attractive plum, wild strawberry, and blueberry to make equally valuable contributions on the palate while impressive hints of rose, cola, and mineral-laden soil linger long on the finish. It is a rare privilege to be able to offer you a “good deal” on small production Burgundy like this and we couldn’t be more excited! Cheers!

So you’ve got to find yourself a Red that has fresh, lively acidity. So, you don’t drink a massive Napa Cabernet. Instead, you reach for a sleek, refined Burgundian Pinot Noir.
