Domaine Coste Chaude Cotes du Rhone "Florilege" 2015

If you’re not drinking Cotes du Rhone then you’re missing out! These darn wines are fantastic and, as a result of stronger Dollar and a couple of very good vintages, they’re a silly good value too. This week we have an excellent small production, estate bottled Rhone red from the good folks at Domaine Coste Chaude called Florilege. This cuvee is a dynamite mix of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan. It is bursting with aromas of violets, cedar, new leather, and underbrush. What a nose! The palate is no less impressive with warm and spicy layers of blackberries, cassis liqueur, and black currants initially. As the wines progresses from the entry to the finish hints of crushed white pepper, anise, cedar, and sun baked earth all begin to make appearances. There aren’t a lot of sub-ten dollar reds that will age well but this one is going places! It’s going to drink better next year than it does this year and it’ll probably be even better than that the following year. Don’t pass this one up, folks! It’s right as rain and it’s a silly good value!
Food Pairing:
The reason that Cotes du Rhone is so tremendously popular is because it’s so affordable and so versatile. You can crack open a bottle of the 2015 Florilege and sip it as a cocktail, watching it slowly evolve and mature in your glass over the course of an evening. Or you can put it alongside a hearty meal like grilled portobello mushroom caps stuffed with sauteed spinach, roasted red peppers, and shredded Gruyere cheese.
You MUST mention this special or print it out to receive the price on the above wine.
This price expires 2/19/2017 at 6pm and is limited to in-store quantities.
No rain checks given. Call (303) 936-0272 to reserve bottles with a credit card.
