With the big Memorial Day weekend on the horizon we know that you’ve got a bunch of grilling and chilling in the queue. So tonight we’re going to pour the XYZin Reserve Zinfandel at the tasting bar so that you can audition it for your go-to Red for the baby back ribs, black & bleu burgers, and red chili that you’re going to be serving once the sun pops back out this weekend. This bottle is rocking good! It is bold, no doubt about it. Give it a swirl and a good deep sniff to reveal a heady perfume of cinnamon sticks and freshly pitted cherries simmering gently in brandy. Don’t sip it yet though. Go back for another whiff and take note of the more delicate layers of pipe tobacco, cedar, and wood smoke. Bang! This is the good stuff. Now, get in there for a sip and watch the Zinfandel go to work! Brash flavors of strawberry jam, pomegranate seeds, macerated strawberries, and cocktail cherries explode onto the scene as though they were shot out of a cannon. Warm, peppery spice touches every facet of the palate when you sip this luscious Zinfandel. The finish is like wrapping up in a soft blanket on a chilly evening as the velvety texture carries lingering hints of nag champa, vanilla bean, and baking chocolate. What a flavor! Come get a sip of this one tonight! We think you’re going to fall in love!
Food Pairing:
I don’t know about you, but I sure do love some bacon and a fried egg on my burger. And, really, what’s more patriotic than a big, juicy burger on Memorial Day? So yeah, that’s my recommendation. That said, I think you’d be really successful pairing double dark brownies with it if you like something off-beat. Or you could throw it up against a rack of slowly smoked baby back ribs for a real feast. In any event, you’re going to want to swing by and try this killer Zin on for size because it is mighty good.
